Update 0.3 and FFS gamejam
Update 0.3 and FFS gamejam
Okay so I've finally got myself into the mood to improve this game. Sorry it took so long but I think I burnt myself out on trying to get it finished for the FFS gamejam which the feedback I gained was invaluable in creating this update, not only in terms of motivation but highlighting areas I need to work on.
New Stuff
- Enemies added to Endless mode. You can finally fight/avoid your way through the mazes and play the game as it was designed. There's the bot previously encountered in the tutorial and a harder(hopefully) version which drops better loot.
- Vertical doors have arrived. Similar to the one in the tutorial, there may be loot behind them or enemies. Still there's multiple ways to tackle them, better figure them out quickly.
- New Module look, the modules are now cleaner and are colour coded by their rarity. Orange -> Green -> Blue -> Red.
- Motors have arrived. They now replace Wheels and add speed instead of enabling/disabling movement entirely, moving without a motor is extremely slow however. (Thanks - SunderW)
- All loot items are now present in the Tutorial stage. Feel free to try out multiple combinations but you can't take them to the actual game.
- Added teleporting screen.
Tweaks
- Batteries now display their Max Capacity in the interface tooltip
- Cargo and Module Expansions now grant double their bonuses. (Thanks - Sasha) (No idea why I halved it in the first place).
- Laser cost and power halved, frequency increased to compensate. (Thanks - Sasha)
- Can now hold down the fire button to constantly fire.
- Clipping sound removed from Solar charge noise, it's also quieter (Thanks - SunderW)
- Clouds hopefully fixed (Thanks - Bastian Top)
- Able to return to the game after modifying the settings. (It kinda defeats the point of settings if you can't play the game afterwards)
- Bug fixed: Able to pick up items despite not having enough space.
Again thanks to everyone who played my game and left comments (koreyhinton and everyone mentioned above). And additional thanks to Bastian Top for his brilliant video review. Let me know of any bugs, additions you want to see or if you just enjoy it. I'm listening and improving this game. I've still got some ideas I want to try and the graphics still need work. So see you all in the next devlog.
